Pay is highest in finance and insurance, 1,683 euros, in energy, 1,484 euros, and in information and communication, 1,313 euros. It is lowest in administrative and support services, 873 euros, in arts, entertainment and recreation, 907 euros, and in agriculture, 917 euros. Over the year the net wage rose 2.3%, more slowly than prices, so real wages fell.

How did wages move in July?
- In July the net wage rose 0.1% compared with June and 2.3% compared with July 2025.
- Wages rose most in water supply and in health, by 0.7%, and in finance, by 0.6%.
- Wages fell in construction and public administration, by 0.3%, and in retail, by 0.1%.
- As prices rose 0.8% in July, real wages fell 0.7% compared with June.

- The gross wage is the amount before taxes and contributions paid by the employee, and the net wage is what the employee receives in the bank account.
- MONSTAT calculates the average by dividing the total wages paid in the month by the number of employees who were paid.
