Pensioner Holidays in Montenegro 2026 Through the Pension Fund: Hotel "PIO" in Ulcinj and Žabljak, 20 to 30 Euros a Day, Seven-Day Stays, Payment in Seven Instalments and Autumn Applications

In 2026 pension recipients in Montenegro can again take a break at Hotel "PIO" in Ulcinj, Hotel "Gorske oči" in Žabljak and the "Žabljak" holiday home through the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund. A stay lasts seven days, includes full board and is paid in 7 equal monthly instalments. In Ulcinj a day costs 20 euros for pensioners on the minimum pension and 25 euros for others, and from 4 May to 28 September 25 and 30 euros respectively; in Žabljak a day costs 20 or 25 euros. The autumn stays in Žabljak run until 2 November, and in Ulcinj until 28 December.

How much does a stay cost?

• The lower price applies to pensioners on the minimum pension and to those who receive a top-up to the minimum amount along with their pension.
• The price covers accommodation with full board: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
• At Hotel "PIO" in Ulcinj the price also includes a specialist doctor's examination, an indoor pool and a sauna, so bring your medical records if you have them.
• The Ulcinj hotel does not provide parking for pensioners, because there is not enough space.
• The Fund does not pay travel costs for the pensioner or a companion.

When are the stays and the applications?

• Stays last seven days and start on Mondays, and for each one the Fund publishes an application window in its 2026 schedule.
• In Žabljak the last stay starts on 26 October and runs until 2 November.
• In Ulcinj stays run until 28 December; for stays from 2 to 23 November applications open on 5 October, for stays from 30 November to 14 December on 2 November, and for the last one, from 21 December, on 4 December.
• Applications for each stay close about ten days before it starts, so apply as soon as the window opens.
• Places in each stay are limited, and the Committee for Pensioners' Rest and Recovery tells every pensioner whether the application was accepted or rejected.

Who can go and how do you apply?

• Pension recipients in Montenegro are entitled, and so are recipients of pro-rata pensions who live in Montenegro, on the same terms.
• Members of the Union of Pensioners' Associations of Montenegro, the Pensioners' Movement and the Association of Military Pensioners apply through their organisations, under their rules.
• Priority goes to pensioners who are not members of pensioners' organisations and to those who have never stayed at these places or have not stayed there in the last two years.
• If you cancel or cannot come, let the Committee know on 067/165-465.

What conditions apply to paying in instalments?

• You repay the stay in 7 equal monthly instalments, which the Pension Fund deducts from your pension.
• Deductions from your pension must not exceed half of it.
• You must not have overdue unpaid creditor claims from voluntary or enforced collection, because otherwise the Fund cannot deduct the debt for the stay.
