Funeral Services in Podgorica 2026: a Standard Coffin from 330 Euros, a Type A1 Grave from 2,310 Euros, Grave Maintenance at 3.35 Euros per m² and How to Book a Funeral

Since 13 March 2026 the city company Pogrebne usluge Podgorica has applied a new price list for funeral equipment: a standard coffin costs from 330 euros to 950 euros, a child's coffin 180 to 200 euros, and a shroud set and a suit 90 euros each. Standard graves of types A to D at the Čepurci and Zagorič cemeteries cost from 2,310 euros to 5,962.50 euros, a masonry mound 654 euros, and grave maintenance costs 3.35 euros per m² a year. Funerals are booked at the equipment shop at Čepurci cemetery, which is open every day around the clock, and the duty service answers on 067 045 751.

How much do coffins cost?

• Prices include 7% VAT.
• The new price list has applied since 13 March 2026, and the company cites a higher purchase price of coffins from suppliers as the reason.
• PG labels are model codes from the price list, so check the look and material of each model in the shop.

How much does other equipment cost?

• Example: a PG3 coffin, a shroud set, a cross and a full wreath cost 560 euros together, or 650 euros with a suit.
• Burial, chapel, transport and the grave plot are paid separately.

How much do graves cost?

• The company adopted the price list for standard graves on 21 November 2019, and it is published on its website.
• For rebuilding a grave privately without changing its outer area, the fee is 30% of the grave's value.
• For construction work done privately, the fee is 5% of the grave's construction value.
• Since 8 March 2024, work on a monument by third parties costs a fee of 60 euros per monument.

How do you book a funeral?

• Funerals take place every day at three city cemeteries: Čepurci, Zagorič and the New Cemetery at Ćemovsko polje.
• The date and time of the funeral are booked at the funeral equipment shop at Čepurci cemetery, in 8. marta street, where the family opens a request for the funeral service.
• The company provides a chapel for condolences at Čepurci and Zagorič, and the price depends on the hour from which the chapel is used.
• Transport of the deceased is arranged in the same shop.
• Condolence telegrams can be sent through the company's website, and staff deliver them to the family in the chapel free of charge.
• Prices for burial, chapel and transport are set by price list no. 5088/1 of 8 November 2021. It is currently not available on the website, so ask for the amount in the shop.

How much do grave maintenance and exhumation cost?

• The annual maintenance fee is 3.35 euros per m² of grave area and covers mowing, raking, removing flowers and waste and tidying the paths.
• Example: for a 5 m² grave plot the fee is 16.75 euros a year.
• The fee is paid to cashiers who visit the cemeteries, in the shop at Čepurci, by bank transfer quoting the grave number and plot, or online through the website.
• Exhumation is requested by the family, with the consent of the holder of the right to use the grave and a decision from the sanitary inspectorate.
