For the 2026/2027 academic year Montenegro's pupil and student dormitories offer 2,375 places in eight dorms, of which 1,468 are in Podgorica. First-year students applied from 1 to 7 September, while second-year and older students and postgraduates apply until 12 October 2026, online at upisi.edu.me. The right belongs to students who study away from their place of residence, they are ranked by results, and students with disabilities, Roma and Egyptian students and former residents of the "Mladost" children's home get free accommodation and meals.

- A correction to the call moved the deadline for second-year and older students and postgraduates from 5 to 12 October 2026.
- The final ranking list for first-year students was published on 18 September 2026 on the Podgorica dormitory's website.
- Each dorm reserves up to 7% of places for students with disabilities, Roma and Egyptian students, students who have lost one or both parents and children of social assistance beneficiaries.
How are points calculated?
- For first-year students, the sum of the third-year average, the fourth-year average and the final exam grade is divided by 30 and multiplied by 100, then 10 points are added for a "Luča" diploma for top marks in all subjects, or five points for top marks in all years.
- For older years, the success index from the previous year is multiplied by eight, then two points are added for the second year, four for the third and six for the fourth.
- Six points are added for the first year of postgraduate study, and eight for the second year of a master's.
- A disciplinary measure from the previous year deducts five points, and with equal points the student from the more distant place has priority.
- The ranking for first-year students is drawn up separately from the one for older years, and an appeal against the ranking goes to the dorm director within three days.
What do you submit and how do you move in?
- A student whose data are taken from public registers submits no papers, while a student who finished school outside Montenegro sends documents by post or hands them in at the dorm.
- When moving in you submit the accommodation form, a medical certificate, a copy of your biometric ID card, the signed contract and a statement accepting any debt.
- Anyone who does not sign the contract in time loses the place, and it goes to the next student on the ranking.
- Moving in for older students is as a rule completed by 30 October.
How much do you pay, and what if you get no place?
- The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation sets the price of accommodation and meals on the dorms' proposal, and the student's share may not exceed two thirds of the smallest student loan, which for 2026/2027 is 150 euros a month.
- A student studying away from home who gets no place can apply for meals only on upisi.edu.me from 8 September to 30 November 2026.
- Anyone who applied for a dorm place is automatically entitled to meals and does not apply separately.
- If places remain free, doctoral students who are not employed can get accommodation at the economic price.
