Lipa Cave 2026: Ticket Prices, Tour Times, What to Expect Inside and How to Get There from Cetinje, Budva and Podgorica

How much is a ticket?

• The price includes parking, the train ride from the car park to the cave and back, the guided tour and basic accident insurance inside the cave.
• Parking is free for tour visitors.
• Tickets are bought at the ticket point in the car park, because this tour needs no booking and online purchase is not available.

When do tours run?

• The cave is open every day from April to November, including public holidays.
• In September 2026 tours left the car park at 10:00, 11:30, 13:00, 14:30 and 16:00.
• Arrive at the car park at least 30 minutes before the tour to buy your ticket.
• Train boarding closes 10 minutes before the tour starts, and your time slot is printed on the ticket.
• The schedule differs by month, so check the time for your visit on the cave's website.

What is the visit like?

• The tourist train takes you from the car park to the entrance, and from there a guide leads the group along the main channel through some of the largest underground halls in Montenegro.
• On the way you pass Njegoš Hall, one of the best known in the cave, and the visit ends at the Grad viewpoint, the most popular spot for photos.
• The cave system has 2.5 km of passages and halls and has been open to visitors since 2015.
• The tour suits children of all ages, and the path is lit and maintained.
• You cannot visit the cave without a guide.
• The temperature is always between 10 and 12 °C, so bring a sweatshirt or jacket even in summer.

What about the adventure tour?

• The 100-minute adventure tour, with equipment and torches through unlit parts of the cave, is cancelled until further notice because of technical problems.
• According to the price list, that tour cost 50 euros for adults, 25 euros for children aged 5 to 15 and 125 euros for a family, with compulsory booking by email.
• While it is cancelled, the cave offers only the basic 60-minute visit.

How do you get to the cave?

• The cave is in the village of Lipa near Cetinje, and the car park and ticket point are in Lipa Dobrska.
• In your navigation app search for "Lipa cave parking", because searching for "Lipa cave" may send you down an alternative road in poor condition.
• From Cetinje take the road towards Podgorica and turn right onto the local road past the Belveder restaurant, about 3 km before the car park.
