- The first train from Bar to Podgorica leaves at 05:13 and the last at 21:13; from Podgorica to Bar the first train leaves at 05:12 and the last at 22:54.
- There is no direct train between Bar and Nikšić, so you change in Podgorica; a second-class Bar-Nikšić ticket costs €5.20.
- If you buy your ticket on the train from the conductor after boarding at a station with a ticket office (Bar, Sutomore, Podgorica, Nikšić and Bijelo Polje), you pay a €1 surcharge.

- Night train 432 leaves Bar at 20:10 and Podgorica at 21:20, and reaches Beograd Centar at 07:08 and Zemun at 07:25.
- Day train 1130 leaves Bar at 09:00 and Podgorica at 10:00 and reaches Beograd Centar at 20:17; according to the timetable it runs until 30 September 2026.
- From Beograd Centar, night train 433 leaves at 19:54 and reaches Bar at 06:54, and day train 1131 leaves at 09:45 and reaches Bar at 21:10, also until 30 September 2026.
- A car carried by train may be no more than 1.55 m high.
- Example: a second-class ticket to Belgrade and a berth in a 4-berth compartment cost €35.80 together.
What discounts are there?
- Children under 6 travel free with a person holding a ticket, and children aged 6 to 14 get 50% off.
- Students and pupils with a K-15 card, journalists with a K-5 card and holders of EURO<26, ISIC and similar cards get 50% off.
- Under-26s, pensioners, over-60s with a K-5 card and groups of 6 or more get 30% off.
- Over-75s travel free with a K-5 card issued before 1 June 2025, until it expires, and get 75% off with a card issued after that date.
- Small dogs travel at 50% off, and each discount card costs €5.
- On international routes groups of 6 or more get 30% off, and the same rules as on local routes apply to children.

A monthly pass for a single route can be up to 75% cheaper than regular tickets. The Balkan Flexipass costs this much when bought from one of the participating railways, including ŽPCG. Montenegro has no Interrail One Country Pass of its own, but it is covered by the Interrail Global Pass.
