Which airport should you fly into, Podgorica or Tivat? For Kotor, Tivat and Budva, choose Tivat: the airport is 8 km from Kotor and 21 km from Budva, and a taxi to Budva costs about 30 to 45 euros. For Podgorica, Bar, Ulcinj and the north, choose Podgorica, which handled 1,751,850 passengers in 2025 and has more flights.
Both airports are run by the state company Airports of Montenegro. Together they passed 3 million passengers on 18 September 2026, two and a half months earlier than in 2025. The figures below come from the company's statistics, flight tables and price lists, checked on 25 September 2026.

Podgorica grew fast after 2021 and has been the busier airport since 2022. Tivat grew by 19.5% in 2025, from 1,124,203 to 1,343,565 passengers, close to its 2019 record of 1,367,282.
Which airlines fly there?
On Friday 25 September 2026 the first flight left Podgorica at 06:00 and the last at 22:50. Airlines that day were Air Montenegro, Air Serbia, Austrian Airlines, LOT, Pegasus, Ryanair, SunExpress, Turkish Airlines and Wizz Air, flying to cities including Belgrade, Vienna, Istanbul, London, Paris, Rome, Berlin, Warsaw and Zurich.
Tivat had 15 departures between 07:30 and 18:30 the same day, with Air Montenegro, Air Serbia, Azerbaijan Airlines, easyJet, Edelweiss, flydubai, Israir and Turkish Airlines, to Belgrade, Istanbul, London Gatwick, London Luton, Zurich, Dubai, Baku and Tel Aviv. In summer easyJet also flies from Tivat to Berlin, Geneva, Manchester and Bristol, and on 24 September 2026 the airport announced four new easyJet routes for summer 2027: Edinburgh, twice a week from late March to late October, plus Birmingham, Basel and Amsterdam. Its seats on these 10 routes will rise from 236,000 to more than 350,000.

A week at Podgorica airport therefore costs 56 euros and a week at Tivat 105 euros. At Podgorica you can also rent a monthly space for 80 euros, paid in advance, with at most 10 exits a month. Tivat's car park is run by the municipal company Parking Servis Tivat, which raised the hourly price from 0.80 to 2 euros in July 2026 and removed the free drop-off: every car now pays at least one hour.
How do you get from the airport to town?
From Podgorica buses leave from the stop in front of the terminal. On Friday 2 October 2026 there were 20 buses to Podgorica bus station between 06:36 and 18:54, taking 11 to 50 minutes and costing 3 to 5 euros, run by MS Tours, BTC Zeta and Zejdin. Zejdin also had 5 buses to Ulcinj, taking 1 hour 24 minutes to 1 hour 43 minutes, for 12 euros. The airport lists two taxi companies, Zeta Taxi and Vuk BG Taxi.
From Tivat no buses start at the terminal, so most passengers take a taxi or a pre-booked transfer. On 24 September 2026 a taxi from Tivat airport cost 35 euros to Kotor, 30 to 45 euros to Budva and 70 euros to Herceg Novi, according to Glatko's comparison of airport taxi prices, which also lists fixed fares from Podgorica. What should you know before you fly?
In the 2026 summer season Podgorica airport limited access to its terminal. Passengers are asked to arrive about 2 hours before their flight and not much earlier, only passengers whose check-in is open may go in, and people dropping off or meeting passengers wait outside unless the passenger needs assistance. You enter through the north door and leave through the south door. Both airports have free Wi-Fi, and Tivat has a business lounge in the departures area.
