Road conditions in Montenegro are published every morning at 06:00 by the information centre of the Auto-Moto Association of Montenegro (AMSCG), and the centre and its roadside assistance service work 24 hours on 19807, 020 234 999 and 063 239 987. In autumn 2026 the key points are the full closure of the Đurđevića Tara bridge until 26 October, night works in the Sozina tunnel until 15 June 2027 and the ban on buses and campers on the serpentine road from Njeguši down to Kotor until 15 October. For vehicles registered in Montenegro, AMSCG provides free towing to the nearest garage.

- The report of 26 September 2026 says traffic runs without special restrictions on most routes, with extra care needed on sections with roadworks.
- The same report lists 17 road accidents in the previous 24 hours, in which five people were slightly injured.
Which closures and bans apply in autumn 2026?
- The Đurđevića Tara bridge on the M-6 Pljevlja-Žabljak main road is closed to all vehicles and pedestrians until 26 October 2026 at 12, for the bridge's reconstruction.
- In the Sozina tunnel traffic runs in alternating single file, with possible short full closures, from 22 to 6 h, from 15 September 2026 to 15 June 2027, for regular maintenance.
- On the R-1 road from Krstac to Trojica, in the direction from Njeguši towards Kotor, and on the road from the car park to the Mausoleum on Lovćen, buses, minibuses and campers are banned from 15 June to 15 October 2026, all day.
- On the same R-1 road, lorries heavier than 7.5 tonnes may not drive every day from 7 to 24 h.
- On the regional roads R-29 Bar-Kamenički most-Krute, R-17 Čevo-Riđani, R-30 Petnjica-Bioča and R-3 Pljevlja-Dajevića Han traffic stops at set times during the day because of roadworks.
How do you get roadside assistance?
- AMSCG provides roadside assistance to all drivers in Montenegro, and the service works 24 hours on 19807.
- For vehicles registered in Montenegro, AMSCG fixes minor faults and tows the vehicle to the nearest garage free of charge.
- A vehicle can also be towed to a garage of your choice or to your home address, and the terms of that service should be checked by calling 19807.
What do you do when an emergency vehicle approaches?
- On a motorway with two lanes in the same direction, drivers in the right lane move to the right edge and drivers in the left lane to the left edge, which opens an emergency corridor between them.
- On a road with three lanes, drivers in the left lane stop in the left lane, and everyone else moves to the right edge of the carriageway.
- Drivers must leave a free passage for escorted vehicles and vehicles with right of way.
